This Marker is located at Country Mart, 616 N. Summit, Arkansas City, KS.

The flagpole is 110 feet high, which represents the number of stories in the World Trade Center.  The base of the flagpole is shaped as a pentagon to honor the Pentagon and the branches of the military.  Each side has a plaque on it that describes:  The Story of Betsy Ross, Saluting the Flag, The Flag of the United States of America, The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, The story of the monument.  In the Grass near the Flag is an Eagle entitled the Spirit of Freedom and a monument dedicated to those who died on flight 93.

VFW Memorial and Not Forgotten Walk

This marker is located in front of the Arkansas City VFW Spencer Ralston Post 1254 at 3212 N. Summit. The Sidewalk is entitled the “Not Forgotten Walk”  and the names of the area veterans and auxiliary in bricks.  The howitzer has a plaque attached that reads, “Memorial to all veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States.”
