Arkansas City Police Department releases crime map to public
Community Crime Map accessible online at www.communitycrimemap.com
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (June 12, 2019) — The Arkansas City Police Department has rolled out a new way for the public to stay informed easily about crime in Arkansas City.
The police department now has a publicly accessible online crime map called Community Crime Map, which can be accessed at www.communitycrimemap.com/?address=ArkansasCity,KS or bit.ly/accrimemap.
The Community Crime Map analyzes crime data, presents them in map form, alerts citizens about crimes in their area and allows Ark City police to quickly alert the public about crimes as they occur.
Arkansas City citizens can view a map and grid with all of the crimes in their area, sign up for Neighborhood Watch reports that automatically email them a breakdown of recent crime activity, and submit an anonymous tip about a crime directly to the Arkansas City Police Department.
The Community Crime Map automatically syncs with the Arkansas City Police Department’s records system to keep crime information up to date online and in the mobile application.
The Community Crime Map displays all of the incidents on a map, grid and analytics dashboard, along with some basic information about the incidents, including the type of crime, location type, block-level address, date and time.
“The Arkansas City Police Department is committed to keeping our citizens informed and working together to combat crime in our community,” said Police Chief Dan Ward.
“The Community Crime Map is just one more tool in our toolbox to help us to accomplish that mission.”
