About the Arkansas City Convention and Visitors Bureau
The Arkansas City Convention and Visitors Bureau is a board-driven organization that promotes tourism and community awareness.
Planning tours, events and conventions are some of the services provided by the bureau.
The No. 1 priority of the Arkansas City Convention and Visitors Bureau is to ensure visitors’ stays are not only pleasant and memorable, but — hopefully — unforgettable!
Located conveniently on Summit Street in downtown Arkansas City, the Convention and Visitors Bureau offers a variety of useful services to visitors and event planners, including:
- offering Sudden Opportunity Grants of up to $300 per event for local events (subject to CVB Board of Directors approval);
- hosting group tours of any size;
- promoting local events and festivals;
- representing the Arkansas City community at the county, state and regional levels;
- offering coordinating services for conventions and large-group meetings.
Bid Proposals and Invitations
The CVB can prepare written bid proposals for your group’s site selection process. Proposals can include information on Arkansas City, lodging, meeting and banquet facilities, dining, entertainment, and attraction details.
The CVB staff maintains an ongoing calendar of events — available on this website, at the CVB office, or by email or postal mail, as requested.
Whether it is a convention, meeting, reunion, tournament, special event or group tour, check with the CVB first!
From beginning to end, your group’s partner in Arkansas City is the CVB. To help to make your job as a meeting planner easier, we offer basic services to assist with your event.
If your group desires a demonstration, tour or other activities, the CVB would be happy to provide a list of ideas and help in the planning.
The CVB represents a wide variety of visitor-related businesses and it can match your needs to Arkansas City’s resources.
The CVB can help your group to arrange publicity of your event through news releases and other media coverage.
Tours of attractions, the downtown area, parks and other facilities can be arranged for any group’s planning needs. CVB staff will schedule appointments and guide the group through the attractions, if so desired.
Speakers and Entertainment
The CVB can help groups to locate speakers on various topics, or help them to find just the right entertainment — e.g., magicians, singers, bands, etc.
Tours and Step-On Guides
The CVB can create specialized tours for the group, or part of the group, according to their time and interests.
Also, depending on schedules and availability, step-on guides can be provided who will share information on Arkansas City’s history, attractions and other interesting sites.
The CVB can provide registration or visitor packets in the form of a folder or bag, containing information about Arkansas City, a notepad, a calendar of events and area coupons.
The group may provide additional materials — such as an agenda, speaker biography, etc. — to be put into the packets if the CVB receives them in a timely manner.
The CVB is happy to arrange for the mayor of Arkansas City, another City of Arkansas City official or any other local dignitary to welcome your group on behalf of the City.
