About the Arkansas City Police Department
The Arkansas City Police Department is staffed during business hours (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays) by full-time and part-time personnel in multiple divisions, including Administration, Investigations, Patrol, Community Policing and Records.
After business hours and on the weekends, the police department office is not staffed. However, the lobby stays open to the public and citizens may use the red telephone there to request that an officer be dispatched to their location.
ACPD provides patrol and emergency response services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A minimum of three officers are on duty at any given time and available for dispatch. Patrol officers work 12-hour shifts — either a day shift from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. or a night shift from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day — and there are four total shifts.
