Month-long Counterfeit Investigation Ends with Arrest

On March 27, 2024, Arkansas City Police Department officers executed a search warrant at Cowley College's Kirk Dale Dorms, cumulating a month-long counterfeit currency investigation.

Officers talked with employees and witnesses and developed a suspect, Lam Gok Kuany, 20, of Nebraska.

ACPD officers, in cooperation with Cowley College Campus Security, executed a search warrant at Kirk Dale Dorms. Inside the room, they found over $28,000 in different denominations in what is believed to be counterfeit currency. Officers also located suspected illegal substances and items associated with their use.

Kuany was taken into custody on March 28, 2024, without incident. He faces five counts of counterfeiting currency, four counts of theft by deception, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His Bond is $17,500.
