City Employee Receives Recognition

ARKANSAS CITY, KAN. (NOV. 3, 2022) During the City Commission meeting on Tuesday, November 1, Wastewater Facility Operator Spencer Stover received recognition for obtaining his Class III Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certification on October 19. Stover completed a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation Correspondence course at the University of Sacramento. Stover started working at the WWTP on July 7, 2020.

In addition to this certification, Stover obtained his class II Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certification in September 2021, attended Kansas Water Environment Association and Kansas Laboratory Education Association Conferences, participated in several industry webinars, and is highly involved with the WWTP rehabilitation.

Stover is in the process of fast-tracking the requirements to take the class IV Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certification exam by March 2023.
