ACFD Respond to Structure Fire

 At approximately 11:47 a.m. on January 13, 2025, the Arkansas City Fire/EMS Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 900 block of South C Street. 

Crews arrived on the scene at 11:48 a.m. to find heavy smoke from a residence, as reported by a neighbor. The home was confirmed to be unoccupied at the time of the incident. 

Firefighters located the source of the fire within an interior wall of the residence. Although the fire was limited to the wall, significant smoke was present throughout the attic and structure. The fire was quickly extinguished within five minutes of their arrival, preventing further damage. 

The estimated cost of damages is approximately $3,200.
