ACPD Responds to Structure Fire

For the second time in just over a week, the Arkansas City Fire/EMS Department responded to a structure fire at a residence in the 1500 block of North 3rd Street.

The latest fire was reported at 9:52 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12. Upon arrival, firefighters found the structure ablaze. Investigators noted that the residence had no active utilities. A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

The same residence previously caught fire on March 3, with initial findings suggesting a generator was the likely cause. At that time, the home was deemed uninhabitable. Officials are now reviewing evidence to determine the cause of the latest fire.
