Arkansas City Fire Department Outlines Plans for Remodel

Arkansas City Fire Department outlines plans for remodel

The Arkansas City Fire Department has recently outlined plans for a remodeling project on the current location at 115 S. D St. This transformative initiative is set to usher in a new era of efficient and effective emergency response services, further solidifying the department's commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.

The remodeling initiative was undertaken with the vision of modernizing the existing infrastructure to meet our city's ever-evolving needs and equip our brave firefighters with the best tools available. The project involves extensive planning and collaboration to create a facility aligned with our public safety commitment.

"We're excited to move forward and have the vision of rehabbing our fire station. The current station has great infrastructure, which contains a solid foundation. It's well built and perfectly designed for the fire department," Arkansas City Project Manager Nick Rizzio said.

Agora Architecture of Winfield is developing plans for the remodel and expects to complete them by the end of 2023. Key features of the project include enhanced training facilities, upgraded apparatus bays, and improved living quarters for fire personnel.

"This facility is a testament to our commitment to protecting and serving our community. With the improved building, our firefighters will be better equipped to handle any emergency, ensuring the safety of our residents," Interim Fire/Emergency Medical Services Chief Stuart Cassaboom said. "The Arkansas City Fire Department remains dedicated to providing the highest level of service and protection to the community.”

Rizzio is also working with Cassaboom and Interim Assistant Fire/Emergency Medical Services Chief Patrick Ramirez on a fire department master plan that would act as a visionary blueprint to outline strategic initiatives and long-term goals aimed at elevating public safety, emergency response capabilities, and community preparedness in our community.
