Firework Safety
Fireworks injure approximately 10,500 people annually.
There are a few key topics to keep in mind when enjoying fireworks.
1. Prevent Fires
- have a water hose nearby
- only shoot off fireworks in an open area with no nearby bushes or trees
2. Stay Safe
- do not light fireworks while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- be aware of your surroundings
- do not point fireworks at people, animals, or houses
- if you allow older children to light fireworks, please be sure they are responsible and trained.

- wait for fireworks to cool before handling them
